Why Choose
Redefined Therapy and Consulting?
You are looking for a therapy option that is experienced and professional, but also one that is convenient and saves your time and energy. We know it can be difficult and tiring to travel to an outpatient clinic, especially from San Diego's Backcountry, and we come to you!
You are looking for treatment that is individualized, not cookie-cutter. We have years of experience and will provide you with services tailored to your needs, using your own environment to help you reach your goals.
You would like to be seen by a professional who puts you first, and considers all aspects of your life in developing a functional treatment plan.
Services
Mobile Occupational Therapy
We use evidence-based practice, creativity, and compassion to improve physical and cognitive abilities and help you participate in the activities that are meaningful to you. We are experienced in both treating a wide range of diagnoses that may impact your quality of life and addressing related concerns, including:
Neurological diagnoses including stroke and spinal cord injury.
Breast cancer rehabilitation: pre- and post-surgery education in range of motion, strengthening, energy conservation, coping with "chemo brain," and more.
General medical conditions including cardiac and pulmonary diagnoses.
Orthopedic diagnoses - fractures, injuries, and surgeries.
Maximizing safety and independence
Fall risk reduction
Assessment for durable medical equipment
Dementia Education and Caregiver Support
We provide education to both the client and caregiver to promote life lived to the fullest, while providing support for challenges along the way.
Customizing a program to increase wellbeing, physical activity, social interactions, and participation in daily activities.
Educating on dementia, including home safety, fall prevention, participation in self-care, and communication.
Providing caregiver education, support, and advocacy for appropriate services.
Home Accessibility Consultation
Working to eliminate barriers to daily activities, promoting age-friendly living, and maximizing safety.
Whether adjusting to a diagnosis or disability, moving an elderly relative in with you, or planning for the future, OT can help you!
For home or bathroom remodels or ADUs, we can work with you and your contractor to make sure modifications are done according to your needs.
While many contractors are trained in ADA requirements, this is not a one-size-fits-all area. With an OT involved in the process, you or your loved one can be professionally evaluated to ensure that your investment meets your current and future needs.
Not planning or needing a remodel, but needing minor modifications made to increase accessibility? We can help there, too.
